Mantle cavity anatomy of Ceratostoma foliatum.
This individual was dredged from 50-80 feet of water
off of Friday Harbor, WA, USA. The shell is the individual from BC illustrated
above and is shown only to indicate orentation of soft parts. It is not to the same scale.

Removing the animal from the shell and cutting open the mantle we can see the mantle cavity organs - the gills that the snail uses to breathe, some sensory organs etc..
